  • Joined the HRAF team in July 2014
  • Participates in developing a comprehensive database for cross-cultural research as part of HRAF’s Explaining Human Culture project
  • Assists in developing additional educational resources for HRAF, including an online tutorial in cross-cultural methods
  • Participates in ethnographic coding for HRAF’s upcoming Climate-Related Hazards, Disasters, and Cultural Transformations project

More about Amelia:

  • Graduated from Carleton College in 2014 with a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology
  • Field research with Kaqchikel Maya in Guatemala and the Hamar of Ethiopia
  • Completed senior thesis on conversion among Jehovah’s Witnesses
  • Main interests are political and economic anthropology, religion, cognition, and social theory
  • Enjoys hiking, camping, and music
