HRAF at Society for American Archaeology (SAA) Conference in Vancouver, B.C. (29 Mar-2 Apr 2017)

Dear Archaeology Faculty,

HRAF booth at 2017 ACRL Conference in Baltimore, MD

HRAF representative, Christiane Cunnar, at a recent library conference

If you are attending the 2017 Society for American Archaeology (SAA) Conference in Vancouver, B.C., please join me at the HRAF booth #225 for a tour of HRAF’s award-winning online cross-cultural databases and see what’s new at the Human Relations Area Files!

Here is HRAF’s exhibit hours at the SAA:
Thur, Mar 30, 2017 9 am – 5 pm
Fri, Mar 31, 2017 9 am – 5 pm
Sat, Apr 1, 2017 9 am – 5 pm

If you are not attending the SAA Conference, please pass on this information to others who are going.

On another note, final exams are just around the corner, so I thought it would be a good idea to provide extra help for students who are using our online ethnographic and archaeological databases for their final projects and papers. Researchers, faculty, and librarians are also welcome to attend to learn about eHRAF’s truly unique features (e.g., culture collections organized by regional affiliations, subsistence & sample types, etc.)

The next online eHRAF Training session starts later today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. /13:00 (Eastern Daylight Time) and will last about 60 minutes.

The online eHRAF Training will focus on:
– Browse Cultures (taking a closer look at eHRAF’s ethnographic collections)
– Finding information in eHRAF (Basic vs. Advanced Search)
– Navigating and processing results
– Tips and strategies
– Resources and support

To make the eHRAF Training interactive, I welcome questions from attendees. These live sessions are a great opportunity to brush up on the various aspects of eHRAF.

To view the upcoming schedule, session descriptions, and to register, go to: https://hraf.yale.edu/regular-schedules-live-interactive-online-training-for-ehraf-databases.

Please share this announcement with faculty, students, and researchers.

Best regards,

Christiane Cunnar
