Hypothesis

Toxicity will be associated with levels of cassava consumption (p.105).

Note

Note: this hypothesis was not directly tested through a statistical test of association, rather, descriptive statistics were used. Using the index of health problems that may be related to cyanide, the hypothesis is not supported (many societies in the sample have high levels of cassava consumption, but have a relatively low frequency of health problems that are possibly associated with cyanide).
