Hypothesis

A variety of ecological, economic, and anthropological factors will predict the prevalence of land ownership.

Note

An increased probability of land ownership was found in mountainous areas (associated with patchy resources but strong defensiveness), in societies with higher population densities, and when neighboring societies also practiced land ownership.
