Hypothesis
The type of political system of a society will be positively associated with the killing or holding enemies captive (441)
Note
This hypothesis correlates types of political systems (centralized and uncentralized or dependent native people, despotic state, chiefdom, tribe with feuding, mature state, tribe without feuding, and band) with killing or sparing the lives of their hostage enemies. (See results p. 440-43.)
