American Anthropologist Vol/Iss. 88 Published In Pages: 843-858
By Ross, Marc Howard

Hypothesis

The presence of female controlled organizations and positions will be positively associated with socioeconomic complexity and negatively associated with external conflict and intercommunity marriage (843, 848).

Note

Concentration of political power, female contribution to subsistence, internal conflict, fraternal interest group strength, socialization practices, male identity conflict, and region were also considered.
