Hypothesis

Societal complexity will be associated with the gender distribution of adolescent initiation ceremonies (699)

Note

In societies that do have adolescent initiation ceremonies, girls' ceremonies will be predominant in the simpler societies while ceremonies of both sexes will be predominant in societies with more complexity.
