Hypothesis

Pathogen stress will independently predict authoritarian governance when controlling for malnutrition, famine, and warfare in the cross-cultural sample (5).

Note

The authors thought that only pathogen stress would be a predictor but famine was also. There were two measures of pathogen stress: "prevalence" and "stress."
