There will be a relationship between use of corporal punishment and frequency of homicide/assault (305).


Corporate punishment by the mother is significantly related to homicide/assualt (rho= .34, p=.05, two tails). Also, when father as frequent corporal punisher was added into the multiple regression model, the relationship was significant, but not in the predicted direction. When the father is the punisher, there are lower rates of homicide/assault.
