By Alesina, Alberto, Giuliano, Paola, Nunn, Nathan

Hypothesis

Historic plough use will be positively associated with fertility rate (499).

Note

A negative association was found to be significant at the 5% level without controls, and at 10% when controlling for indicators of geoclimatic suitability of plough use, including presence of domesticated bovines or equines, presence of tropical or subtropical climate, political complexity, and economic complexity.
