Geophagy in pregnancy: a test of a hypothesis

Geophagy during pregnancy will be most common in populations that do not practice dairying or do not consume dairy products (534).


Geophagy is reported in 38 of the 45 (84.4%) nondairying groups and in 6 of the 15 (40%) dairying groups.
