Stratified societies will be positively associated with females marrying up.
This is theorized to cause genetic factors promoting high female fertility to be selected for regardless of the negative cost to males of a lower probability of finding a female partner for reproduction. This in turn, they assert, is associated with an increased survival and frequency of male heterosexual preference. Stratification was the most important factor; geographic region next. Other variables were not important.
