Hypothesis

In a subsample of societies with either high social complexity or low social complexity, exogamy will be positively associated with cross-allegiance/ alliance between exogamous groups (262).

Note

Results did not support the hypothesis on the lineage, clan, or local group level. The hypothesis is also tested accounting for random error, systematic error, and regional differences. All tests fail to support the hypothesis.
