Hypothesis

Disadvantaged families with preference for sons will predict higher health disparities between sons and daughters.

Note

Health disparities are measured according to mean of the variation of weight- and height-for-age z-scores among female and male children. While the degree of disadvantaged backgrounds is assessed according to the mother's locational status, educational attainment, and family's wealth.
