Hypothesis

The effects of social, economic, and material factors on children's play in six different cultures are discussed.

Note

Key factors in the type and amount of play include: amount that adults stimulated childrens' play, children's freedom to practice adult roles in play, and whether there were models and materials for creative and constructive play in children's environment.
