Hypothesis
Matrilocal/ambilocal residence will be positively associated with higher female status (162).
Note
Although matrilocal/ambilocal residence is positively associated with an increase in female status, it is not significantly associated with female status relative to male status. These results indicate that although female status is higher in matrilocal/ambilocal societies, males still hold a higher status than females.
