Hypothesis

Segregation by sex is positively associated with instability of political power (238).

Note

Segregation by sex includes instances of both male and female segregation practices. Instability of political power is an index of the ability to acquire political leadership with wealth, develop political faction through social indebtedness, and ritualized warfare.
