Hypothesis

Physical punishments will be correlated to all socioecological variables.

Note

The authors suggest a positive correlation between physical punishments with the following variables: 1) presence of external trade, 2) presence of food storage, 3) greater dependence on animal husbandry, 4) the presence of social stratification, 5) larger community sizes, and 6) reduced dependence on hunting.
