Digital Services Production & Development Specialist
After graduating with a B.S. in Media Studies and a minor in English Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Ben Kluga moved to Seoul, South Korea. He would spend nearly ten years there, with experiences including work as an English instructor for adults in the garment and pharmaceutical industries, a five-year homestay, and several years volunteering as a tutor at an NGO supporting North Korean refugees. During this time in Korea, Ben developed an interest in linguistic and cultural preservation and revitalization. Aspiring to effect greater change, he returned to school in 2018 to pursue a second bachelor’s degree in computer science. While attending Northern Illinois University, Ben worked as a research assistant to Dr. Reva Freedman, interned for one year with Discover Financial Services, and minored in both Cognitive Science and Linguistics. He graduated summa cum laude and has several publications in the field of intelligent tutoring systems.
