Intern
Isana graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego in 2023 with a double B.A. in Sociocultural Anthropology and International Studies. Her undergraduate honors thesis focused on how gender inequality affects the implementation of sanitation and water policies in India. As such, her anthropological interests include understanding menstrual taboos, gender norms, sex and sexuality, and the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sector. She is excited to be interning for HRAF, and is looking forward to employing cross-cultural anthropology to explore her interests further.
Throughout college, Isana was part of a competitive dance team, was a writer and managing editor for UCSD’s journal of international affairs, and volunteered for the school’s food pantry. She enjoys horseback riding, playing video games, and going to the beach in her free time.
