Job opening: Office Manager/Full-Charge Bookkeeper [Applications Closed]

HRAF, a small research agency affiliated with Yale University specializing in producing information about cultures of the world, is accepting applications for a flexible general office manager to handle day-to-day accounting and financial management as well as office management. Reports to HRAF’s President. This will be a part-time or full-time (30-37.5 hours/week) Yale managerial and professional (M&P) staff position with standard Yale benefits. Flexible hours are possible.

Accounting and financial management tasks include: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reporting functions, and assistance with annual budgets and audit. Office management duties include: keeping administrative and personnel records, supporting the Board of Directors’ meetings, providing support for staff, serving as a liaison with Yale, overseeing building and grounds maintenance, responding to general email and mail inquiries.

Required skills: full-charge bookkeeping skills and knowledge of and experience with accrual/deferral accounting methods, significant experience with QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Access (or other databases a plus); a B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent.

Preferred skills: Higher education or nonprofit experience. 1-3 years professional experience or significant internship experience.
