In keeping with our mission of promoting cultural diversity, the HRAF Global Scholarship has attracted candidates from around the world. As one of our top funding priorities, the scholarship provides institutions and individuals in low-income or middle-income countries (as defined by the World Bank) with free access to our databases, eHRAF World Cultures and eHRAF Archaeology.
Our candidates range from graduate students to full-time faculty and researchers. This year the HRAF Global Scholarship has attracted candidates from the following places around the world:
- Burkina Faso
- Cameroon
- Colombia
- Democratic Republic of Congo
- Ethiopia
- Kenya
- Malaysia
- South Africa
HRAF currently has more candidates than we can fund with our own dedicated resources. We are seeking the support of donors to endow additional institutional and individual scholarships. The institutional scholarship is valued at $1,150 and the individual scholarships are valued at $400 each. Our total goal for this fundraising drive comes to $3,550. If the goal for the current scholarship application cycle is exceeded, surplus funds will be earmarked for future scholarships
